Fashion is not harmful to society as it simply personifies freedom?
We disagree with this because fashion is a double-edged sword. Modern trends force people to be perfect, dress according to trends, so fashion becomes a bondage. People spend lots of money buying clothes that are fashionable and are up to their neck in credit card debt.
Societal problems, such as anorexia and teen violence, are exemplary as to why fashion can actually be harmful. The media pushes the idea of beauty, as it is associated with apparently emaciated super models. The Fashion Industry is also a major factor in dictating society's
definition of beauty, the perfectly proportioned girls plaguing every magazine.
Nobody should judge people by how they dress, some people dress wonderful on the outside and their clothes are very fashionable, but on the inside can be ugly people.
People need to start accepting themselves as they are; beauty comes naturally.
